When I put A map previously made with BO1.5 into the BO1.6 folder, the .mis does not show up when trying to open a file using the editor from the BO1.6 folder

Re: BO1.6 Help
That's weird . . . I checked to see if mine worked OK and it does.
Is the map you're trying to open in BO V1.6 B5 folder or do you have it in another folder?

Re: BO1.6 Help
The map is in the BO1.6-5 folder
OK……Now I hope my babble is going to make sense.
The machine in question is the one at my work.
Remember we discussed how I installed the 1.6 B-5 into the 1.5 folder which had no previous updated versions and you stated that was no good and that I need to do a fresh install?
Well, I uninstalled DFX2 and removed all folders pertaining to BO1.5/BO1.6B-5
I reinstalled DFX2 and copied the contents of that folder into a folder named BO15 and installed BO1.01 then the BO 1.5 finial.
Then I made another folder named BO16 and copied the contents from the DFX2 folder into the BO16 folder the installed the BO 160 beta 5 into that folder and was able to play both versions online with no problems.
Now comes the problem……
I put a map (there are no other maps in either folder) that was made using BO15 into the BO16 folder and when I tried to open the .mis file using the editor in the BO16 folder the .mis does not show up but if I put the map into the BO15 folder I can open it using the editor in the BO16 folder but the new objectives are not available. If I create a new map using the editor in the BO16 folder it saves it into the BO15 folder and not the BO16 folder and all the new objectives are available.

Re: BO1.6 Help
Hey Red,
The problem has to do with the User Account Controls on the PC and the files being in the Program Files folder.
So what you would want to do is create a new folder off the root drive. On your C:\ create a new folder called BOMOD16. So you should have C:\BOMOD16.
Cut and paste the BOMOD16 you have in your Program Files folder and put it into the C:\BOMOD16.
Then try using the med editor from the C:\BOMOD16 folder.
The real problem is that when DFX2 installs. It doesn't install all the files needed for DFX2. When you first start up DFX2 it creates the files like game.cfg on the fly. Because they don't exist originally they are placed in the User folder of the microsoft account and always access the original location. This is what is going on with your med editor. Even though you use the one from BOMOD16 folder. It points back to the orignal DFX2 or black ops folder.
You may need to run the BOMOD16 first (C:\BOMOD16\DFX2\dfx2.exe Example) before trying to use the med so it creates all files needed to run the game.

User account controls...................
good point I never thought of that since this is my work computer which I don't have complete control of. You know how those IT people can be........They feel like they accomplish something by blocking you from everything. I had to hack around their Barracuda crap just to be able to surf the internet. It basically block anything to do with a video, gambling, or porn.
I will try your resolution when I get to work tomorrow.
Thanks for the help Huntor

Yup very true. I have an all in one installer now. I was going to say that but forgot.
www.bomod.net has the 1.5 full install.

Re: BO1.6 Help
Yes I know you don't need 1.01 anymore but I had it saved on my computer so I used that instead of downloading the new 1.5 version.

Re: BO1.6 Help
Do you have the med inside the game file of the 1.6 version?
