Sounds like your computer is working to hard to run it and causing it to overheat. You can try to go into the game.cfg file and change lock_framerate to 1.
This shouldn't use as much cpu power and should keep your pc from overheating.
If it is already set to 1 then there isn't anything that you can change in the game to fix the issue.

Open the DFX2 folder where all the game files are. Look for "game.cfg".
You can double-click on the file name to open it up in Notepad.
Scroll down the list until you see "lock_framerate".
If there is a "1" out to the right of it, do nothing. Just close the file.
If there is a "0" out to the right of it, change it to a 1 and save the file.
